Softube has announced a new reverb plugin called Dimensions.

This plugin is designed to merge a variety of reverb styles and algorithms — from plates, springs, and ’80s-style digital reverbs to concert halls and cathedrals. It also includes a Shimmer section, which lets users transform any of the six reverb types into a shimmer reverb. Shimmer reverbs create a reverb tail pitched an octave higher than the source, often used in ambient music.

Dimensions features six reverb algorithms: Spring, Plate, Concert Hall, Random Hall, Room, and Cathedral. Each algorithm offers unique responses ranging from “vibey and colourful” to “lush and sparse,” “open and clear,” and “dark and dense.” The plugin aims to replicate the character and responses of classic reverb units, making it adaptable for various musical genres and mixing needs.

Another highlight of Dimensions is its Reverb Tail Visualiser, which visually represents the sound of the selected reverb tail and dynamically updates as parameters are adjusted. According to Softube, the visuals are inspired by a ‘pioneering sampler workstation’ from 1979, most likely the Fairlight CMI. Additional parameters include reverb essentials like delay time, predelay, dry/wet knob, and a dark and bright filter control.

Dimensions is available now at an introductory price of €99. Visit the Softube website for more details and to watch the demo video showcasing its capabilities.
