Serato now supports Native Instruments and Pioneer DJ controllers

Serato has rolled out its latest update, version 3.2.1, introducing support for three of the most popular entry-level DJ controllers. Previously, Serato Pro and Lite only supported official Serato hardware, but with this update, the software now extends compatibility to non-Serato controllers for the first time.

Among the newly supported controllers is the Pioneer DDJ-400, a widely popular entry-level option that has recently been succeeded by the DDJ-FLX4. Serato has also added support for the Pioneer DDJ-200, a simpler, more beginner-friendly controller. Additionally, Native Instruments’ Traktor Kontrol S2 and S3, favored by bedroom DJs, are now compatible with Serato as well. For those interested in learning how to use these four controllers with Serato, more information is available here.

This update comes amid a pause in AlphaTheta’s acquisition of Serato, following the New Zealand Commerce Commission’s rejection of the merger last month. However, this new expansion of controller support could signal a closer collaboration between Serato and Pioneer DJ, even as the merger discussions continue.

Meanwhile, Native Instruments has also been active, releasing Traktor Pro 4 last month. This update brought stem separation to their long-running DJ software, marking the first significant upgrade for Traktor in some time.

As Serato expands its support to include more controllers, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing versatile tools for DJs at all levels, from beginners to professionals, regardless of their preferred hardware.
