Native Instruments has unveiled Kontakt 8, the latest version of its popular soft sampler.
This update introduces new features, instruments, and samples, with a library of over 900 instruments. Version eight adds Chords and Phrases, tools that allow users to generate melodies and sequences using both MIDI content and randomization. These features work with Kontakt and any instrument built on its engine.
Another key addition is Leap, which offers quick manipulation of loops and samples, similar to Output’s Arcade. Leap includes 12 genre-specific expansions like Afrobeats, Latin Trap, and Soul Gold. Conflux, a new instrument, blends a sample engine with wavetable and FM synthesis, enabling real-time manipulation and modulation.
Kontakt 8 also brings a redesigned browser that makes it easy to search installed instruments. Users can filter by sound type, character, or by the third-party brand that created the instrument.
Priced at £269 for new users and £89 for upgrades, Kontakt 8 is available now. You can find more details on the Native Instruments website.
Kontakt 8 is also included in Komplete 15, recently announced by Native Instruments.
