Moog Music has unveiled a new synthesizer named Labyrinth

Moog Music’s latest “ideas machine” includes two oscillators and a pair of generative sequencers.

Moog Music has introduced a new synthesizer called Labyrinth.

Like the Mother-32 and Spectravox, it’s portable and Eurorack-compatible. This new synth is an “ideas machine.” It features two generative eight-step sequencers. These sequencers evolve over time, developing ideas, riffs, and melodies. The modular patch bay allows modulation and control of various elements. These include VCO pitch, filter frequency, and envelope shape.

The unit has two sine wave oscillators, ring modulators, and frequency modulation. Dedicated saturating mixers add extra harmonics. The new “state-variable” filter offers a fresh take on the classic Moog filter sound. It syncs with other Moog Eurorack-compatible units like the Matriarch and Spectravox. It also works with any other Eurorack equipment in your studio.

In April, a new book about the Minimoog synthesizer was available for pre-order on Kickstarter. The Minimoog Book, written by Joe Silva, explores its history. It covers the journey from the initial prototypes to the first version.

The Labyrinth is now on sale for £599.
