Moog unveils Muse, its new flagship analog polyphonic synthesizer
Moog has unveiled the Muse, its new flagship eight-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer. The synthesizer was initially hinted at during the Super Bowl halftime show in February.
The full-size 61-key synth blends analog features with modern additions. The Muse was first hinted at during the Super Bowl halftime show in February. It has been in development for five years at Moog’s headquarters in Asheville, North Carolina. Moog Music says the unit is designed for both studio and live performance.
The synth offers eight fully analog voices with two VCO options per voice. Each voice includes a modulation VCO, dual VCFs, and a stereo VCA. The oscillators are from the famous Minimoog Voyager synth. It features a saturating mixer for extra harmonics and Moog ladder filters. The VCAs are inspired by Moog Modular circuits. Patches are bi-timbral, allowing two sounds to stack or split across the keyboard.
The Muse includes a 64-step sequencer with sequence chaining and parameter recording. It also features an arpeggiator and chord memory function, enabling more complex ideas, riffs, and loops. The Moog Muse retails for $3,499 and is available now.
