iZotope Unveils Neutron 5: The Latest in AI-Enhanced Mixing

iZotope has launched Neutron 5, the newest iteration of its AI-driven mixing assistant tool.

This advanced version of the plugin enhances its capabilities with three new modules—Clipper, Density, and Phase—increasing the total to ten. Each module integrates unique settings and processing, fine-tuned by iZotope’s proprietary AI mixing algorithms. Neutron 5 actively analyzes incoming audio signals, tailoring its processing to meet the needs of the sound, whether for individual tracks, groups, or the entire mix bus, adapting to specific genres and styles.

In addition to the original seven modules, which include EQ, Exciter, Compressor, and Sculptor, the new Clipper module allows for greater headroom control in your mixes, with targeted adjustments for mid/side and transient vs. sustain elements. The Density module functions as an upwards compressor, enhancing dynamics while adding depth and thickness to the audio. Meanwhile, the Phase module utilizes iZotope’s intelligent algorithms to detect and correct phase discrepancies within the mix.

Although Neutron’s features can operate independently of AI assistance, the enhanced Mix Assistant now works more swiftly and intelligently, streamlining the analysis of sounds and sound groups. This update also includes the ability to isolate and listen to the processed components of your mix, providing a clearer understanding of the adjustments Neutron makes.

Neutron 5 is currently available at an introductory price of $174, which will later increase to $249. More details about the plugin are available on the iZotope website.
